Vine Times - Blog

September '08 Blog Entry #1

by Victoria Buonocore

As winemakers throughout California embrace the harvest season, we here at Vine Times Magazine have harvested a brand new website. While we’ve been “live” for a couple of years, we are very exited to update, refresh and reinvigorate our site. We hope you’ll enjoy cruising through our pages, both in print and online, to learn more about California wine events, destinations and features.

Be sure to check out our September edition where our destination location is Mendocino and Lake County. These are places where time stood still, yet wineries are popping up to offer unique blends and some new twists on the age-old art and science of winemaking. You’ll also learn about great places to stay in both locales as well as some fun adventures unique to the areas… like the Skunk Train!

Denise Kouzoujian and her popular Culinary Road Trip is also offered in the September edition. She went to Mendocino and brought back wine from Handley Cellars and Husch Vineyards to pair with her herb-crusted lamb chops with tangy cucumber-tomato relish.

Along with scores of harvest season events in the wine country, you’ll find the winners of the Santa Cruz Mountain Commercial Wine Competition. September’s Vine Times is chalk full of everything California wine. Find it at a winery near you.

Also, keep an eye out for the October edition where we feature destination articles on San Benito County and the Sierra Foothills. Also, columnist Randy Robinson is working on a piece about Slow Food Nation… and wine! Our proudest work-in-progress, along with our website, are our maps and guides. Artifacts, Ink., fabulous artists from the Sierra Foothills, are recreating our maps to best reflect wine regions throughout California. Our maps and guides make Vine Times sought after and long-kept!

Come back to our online version of Vine Times soon… You’ll find the places to go and the people to see in California’s vast wine regions!
